Jia Lat!

Means : Very serious; prefixed with see-peh; to make it even more serious.
Example : jia-lat man! Exam this time sure fail one.


Jheelo

Meaning : Zero
Example : Someone yelling into the phone to his bookie, "One hunnert, you idiert!!! One-jheelo-jheelo!"


Joffee

Literal meaning : Geography
Example : 'Ay, tomollow the JOFFEE tess you study liao not? Sure damn chiatlat one nah!'

Chai Tow Kway Recipe (Singapore Carrot Cake)

Here is a simple Singapore Carrot Cake Recipe - a white version.  I believe you might have seen a golden brownish carrot cake.  Well, the one ingredient that made the difference is the fish sauce.  If you use dark sweet soy sauce instead, then the chai tow kway will be golden brown.

In other words, "isn't it obvious?" A rhetorical question used to express disgust at the listener's stupidity in grasping the obvious.
Example: Ah Mao: Go World Trade Center can take 61 meh? Ah Kow: Ah then? Of cos lar!

About this blog

I got so many friends who wants to go to Singapore.  They have asked me a lot of questions - same questions actually.  Of course, I gave them the same answers.

But come to think about it, why don't I put them in one blog?

And so, to make the story short, here it is.
